We have been in the business for over 20 years and are one of the last surviving golden age comic book stores in the country. We are also the only comic shop I have ever seen that is primarily non superhero comics(which isn't to say we don't sell them!). This is mainly due to superheroes not being popular at the time, during the golden age captain america was so unpopular he got cancelled twice same with blue beetle! As a result while we sell superhero comics and we do have golden age ones even the world war 2 era heroes, the bulk of our inventory is golden age westerns, crime comics, tv or radio comics, war comics, cartoon keys, good girl art, and pre-code horror! You're more likely to find a first appearance of baby huey or early millie the models in our inventory then an x-men 1. Our specialty is the rarest books of the 1950s and earlier in a condition a person can afford. Often we have the only copies of rare golden age for sale anywhere on the internet. We pay much more for our inventory then most stores do as we do not sell new comics at all. What this means is we have to be cognizant of the fact we are buying people's childhood treasures most commonly after the person has kept them for more than 70 years and has a strong emotional connection to them. With this in mind most of our items come from single owner collections which limits how low we can afford to go on pricing but we try to treat our customers and the people who sell to us well and we are honest and fair about pricing and condition. You never have to worry about us calling things near mint when they only grade a 3.0 out of 10 as we don't do that! We also do not sell graded books as we are a store specifically for people who want to read the best of the best of golden age comics(hard to do if they're sealed in a hard plastic case)!
