Condition: Items being sold are in the condition shown in the photographs - what you see is what you get. Graphic novels and other items may have stickers, stamps or other markings on the outside or inside covers (ex. “From the collection of,” “Discontinued from X Library”, Dewey Decimal stickers, etc.). These should not be on raw nor graded comics, unless noted. Please look carefully at the photos provided and ask for more if you’re concerned with the specific condition of a trade paperback, raw comic, hardcover, poster, etc.
Graded comics are in eBay’s ‘Brand New’ condition, text which can carry over here to HipComic – when these arrive, I inspect them, photograph them and put them away until they’re sold. These’re kept in the plastic CGC sleeve and will ship in these. I do not have UltraPro's or other brands' types of sleeves for these.
The rise of grading and authenticating comics means a comic's grade is NOT supposed to be subjective. The standards CGC, CBSC, PGX and others use are according to their published criteria (each their own, but pretty common among them), and I try to identify any defects on raw copies through the photographs and/or in the description. Disclaimer: I'm not perfect in doing so, nor am I a certified grader, and any notation of a grade or condition on a raw comic or other item, with the exception of actual third-party graded items, is only my best, unprofessional and non-binding estimation. No refunds will be granted for not receiving, for example, a 9.8 NM+/M/MINT/GEM MINT raw comic – I cannot not guarantee any raw comic is any grade. All items’ photographs are retained to identify any defects present when the item was shipped. Some defects may not be shown. These include spine tics, indentations, blunted corners, small creases or folds (crease for us = bent back 100%, fold = bent but doesn't break color and is possibly fixable through pressing), scratches. grime, foxing, yellow, off-white or other-color pages, loose or even tarnished/rusty staples, markings and more. Items will have all pages included and, except where notated, all will be stapled as originally stapled. I do not restore books, so you will find no restoration on my part (restoration may have been done by a previous owner). But please know – I'm a collector, too, so I'm not trying to pull a fast one over you.
Payment: Please pay within 48 hours days of an auction or offer ending. Beyond that, please let me know when to expect payment or if another arrangement needs to be made, such as waiting on a paycheck or for other auctions to end. I’ll file claims and/or cancel sales on items not paid after 72 hours unless you communicate with me.
