In "The Duel of the Super-Heroes!" , Hal Jordan is returning from a distant mission in space when he inadvertently exceeds the speed of light and crashes on the planet of Spectar. Revived by Sectarian scientists, he is sent on his way back to Earth, but with subliminal commands to deliver the Flash into the hands of the Spectarians so they can duplicate the power of his super-speed and use it to attack Earth. Hal Jordan wind up on a weekend date with their girlfriends . . . which eventually lead to GL rescuing Flash on the distant planet and learning each other's super-hero alternate identity!

A caption at the end of the story says that this is "the first of a proposed series teaming the Emerald Warrior and the Scarlet Speedster", and if readers liked the pairing to write in and let the editors know!!

This is a great-looking 59-year old Silver Age GREEN LANTERN -- no creases, tears, pieces missing, or abnormal toning. The binding is strong, and the colors are bright . . . the only flaw being a couple of faint tape remnants on the spine.
