In "The Green Lanterns' Fight for Survival!", (continued from the previous issue, which is also available in our store!) Green Lanterns HAL JORDAN and TOMAR-RE are assisted by newly deputized Green Lantern CHARLEY VICKER (an actor who had portrayed Green Lantern on TV, and who would go on to appear in 15 more DC comic issues before his death) as they find and disable a fortress of aliens on a prison planet. The aliens are rounded up and re-imprisoned. The prisoners were lead by earth criminal Al Magone, and were using one of the alien robots as the power source for Mini-Nucleo weapons that neutralize the emerald power and allowed them to kill dozens of Green Lanterns across the universe. Charley Vicker is given his own space sector to patrol,and given the power ring of one of the fallen Green Lanterns.

I remember being utterly amazed by this issue - and Kane's artwork - when I was 15 - and this issue made me into a genuine fan of TOMAR-RE!

This is a fantastic-looking 55-year old Silver Age GREEN LANTERN -- no creases, tears, pieces missing, or abnormal toning. The binding is strong, the colors are bright - it's downright beautiful!
