Issue #116 sees the continuation of the X-MEN's journey to the SAVAGE LAND to aid KA-ZAR in stopping the destruction of his world, put in motion by the evil Sun-God, GARROCK The Petrified Man! But they are ambushed by a squad of Pterodactyl riders loyal to GARROK and during the fight, CYCLOPS, COLOSSUS, BANSHEE and KA-ZAR are taken prisoner and carried away.

That leaves WOLVERINE in charge, and along with STORM and NIGHTCRAWLER, he manages to set things right, freeing his teammates and leaving the SAVAGE LAND safe and protected!
