WORLD'S FINEST COMICS made its debut in 1941, and continued uninterrupted to its final issue in 1986, #323. The series was initially titled 'World's BEST Comics' for its first issue, but issue #2 (Summer 1941) switched to the more familiar name. Virtually every issue in its 45 years featured DC's two leading superheroes, SUPERMAN and BATMAN, with the earliest issues also featuring Batman's sidekick, ROBIN.

Here in issue #173 from late winter, 1968, inside a cover by the great Curt Swan, you get 2 great stories featuring the top-selling DC heroes of the time. First up is "The Jekyll-Hyde Heroes!", with story by Jim Shooter and art by Curt Swan. Evil scientist

Dr. Arron's Psyche-Distortor chemicals cause complete character reversal in SUPERMAN and BATMAN, turning them into their own worst enemies - KRALIK and TWO-FACE - until ROBIN's quick thinking saves the day!

It features the FIRST Silver Age appearance of 'TWO-FACE', and (despite calling him 'SUPERMAN's Greatest Foe', the very first appearance of KRALIK)!

The back-up story, a reprint from ACTION COMICS #241 in 1958, is "The Super Key to Fort Superman!". Wayne Boring illustrates the clever mystery story that finds SUPERMAN wondering who could have possibly broken into his Fortress of Solitude in the distant Arctic!!
This is a really lovely and clean copy of this 55-year-old comic book! It has a a strong binding and 36 supple, bright pages! No pieces missing or ragged edges - we grade it (and so did the professional auction house from whence it came) a 9.0 VF/NM. Overstreet grades this issue in this condition at $126.
