Contains Issue #'s 1-28 ***The COMPLETE Series! 'The Weapon X one-shots that introduced—in some cases, re-introduced—the major players and led into this ongoing series were a bit hit-and-miss in terms of quality, but the series itself is both fun and intriguing. It’s not nearly Steranko’s Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD (1st Series), but it’s a pretty good espionage series that features super-powered characters and doesn’t read like a traditional super-team series. In this case, the focus of the team is not on super-heroics; the Weapon X program was created to use mutants’ abilities as military weapons. The cast consists of the enigmatic Director, former Alpha Flight speedster Aurora, former SHIELD agent Brett Jackson, technomorph Madison Jeffries, cybernetic super-soldier Kane, bone-wielding former X-Man Marrow, the hypnotic Mesmero, the reptilian Sauron, the aquamorph Washout, and the feral Wild Child. The first story arc tosses longtime Wolverine antagonist Sabretooth into the mix. He has stolen sensitive documents about the Weapon X program and its agents, as well as every other known mutant on the planet, and this information must be recovered at all costs. The team’s encounter with Sabretooth is particularly traumatic for the team, especially the emotionally unstable Aurora and Wild Child, and that’s just the beginning.Intriguing stuff from writer Frank Tieri (Deadpool) and artist Georges Jeanty (Bishop The Last X-Man).' - COMICBASE ATLAS ARCHIVE EDITION
