WDC&S #138 hit the newsstands early in 1952 with the usual exciting mix of stories featuring Disney characters, written and drawn by a stable of top-talents, many of whom got their first jobs in the Disney animation studio! First among equals, of course, was Carl Barks, who here provides us with one of his better-known stories, that fans have called "The Money Story' or "Statuesque Spendthrifts" over the years. In it, Uncle Scrooge and the Maharajah of Howduyustan vie to build the biggest statue of Cornelius Coot, the founder of Duckburg. The panel of Scrooge and the Maharajah's increasingly- larger statues towering over Duckberg has been reprinted hundreds of times in articles lauding Barks' talents as both draftsman and storyteller!

You also get Frank McSavage illustrating a Grandma Duck story, Gil Turner on Li'l Bad Wolf, Riley Thompson on Mickey Mouse, a dozen Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse comic strip reprints, and a great Jack Bradbury ill on a 2-page text story! All this crammed into 36 pages - with no ads!

This is a beautiful copy of this 69-year-old comic, with a strong binding and minimal toning, and supple pages with almost no toning, and bright colors! Even a bit of gloss to the covers.
