Running for just 6 issues in 1966, UNDERSEA AGENT was one of just a handful titles published by TOWER COMICS, the best-known of which was Wally Wood's T.H.U.N.D.E.R. AGENTS, which was popular enough to be revived several times, and even folded in to the DC Universe.

But UNDERSEA AGENT, was unfortunately not as popular, despite featuring artists like Reed Crandall, Steve Ditko . . . and this issue's Gil Kane - illustrating the cover, and the 13-page story, "To Save A Monster", written by Steve Skeates.

This large, square-bound, 68-page comic sold for just 25¢ in the mid-60s, but that elevated price tag may have contributed to its poor sales. It's packed with adventure, featuring 4 major stories of Lt. Davy Jones, the UNDERSEA AGENT (who had a tenuous connection to T.H.U.N.D.E.R. AGENTS) from artists including Kane, Ray Bailey and Frank Bolle.

This is a well-read and -enjoyed UNDERSEA AGENT from 55 years ago -- no tears orpieces missing, but it is showing its age with general scruffiness, a 5 inch detachment of the front cover, and a pencilled price on the back cover. It's still a great read and full of good art! We grade this an 4.5 VG+ . . . which Overstreet values at $13 . . . but we're pricing it at just $5 . . with our alway-L•O•W shipping!
