Here's the very special 102-page issue of THOR that returned the series to its original numbering, which left off at #502 in September of 1996 . . . if that original numbering had been continued in the intervening months, this would indeed be Issue #600! It contains, inside its painted wrap-around cover by Marko Djurdjevic, 8 different stories (5 of which are reprints of early Jack Kirby stories from the 'Journey into Mystery' days) and a neat 5-page gallery of 600 THOR covers (beginning with Journey into Mystery #1)!

The 42-page lead story, "VICTORY", tells the story of why THOR will be banished to Earth for the foreseeable future - thanks to the manipulations of LOKI. Thor's dastardly brother finds Odin's long-missing father BOR and transports him to Earth, where the god's disorientation causes him to lash out and cause havoc. Thor confronts him, not knowing who he is, and accidentally kills him, which forces Balder to exile Thor from Asgard. Written by J. Michael Straczynski the powerful and dynamic art is by the artists who will continue THOR's exploits in the months ahead: Olivier Coipel and Marko Djurdjevic.

You also get the flashback story "To Asgard! Forever!" written by Stamn Lee with art by David Aja. THOR and SIF decide to marry and live their lives in peace, but THOR is called back to Earth to save a patient as Dr. Don Blake. SIF and THOR admit that their obligations make their plan impossible. And another original , "Welcome Back, Thor!" is in the style of Chris Giarrusso's 'Young Marvels' = Thor comes back from the dead but he decides that it's more trouble than it's worth since all his friends are acting weird about it.
