Walt Simonson returns for his second issue as writer and artist for THOR and gives us the origin of the unlikely successor to the God of Thunder - alien BETA RAY BILL!

Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's famous creation of THOR first took place in 43 issues of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY before the Odinson got his own title in THOR #126 - the cover of which is drawn as an homage by Simonson and graces issue #338! The cover also debuts the brand new THOR logo which remained for over 200 issues!

In "A Fool And His Hammer . . . ", BETA RAY BIIL and THOR fight in single combat for the honor of wielding MJOLNIR . . and the alien bests the God of Thunder!

Terrific artwork and dynamic storytelling, written, pencilled and inked by SIMONSON at the peak of his talents!

This is a great copy of THOR #338, with very little toning for its age of 41 years, but no foxing. No ragged edges, creases, or pieces missing.

We conservatively grade this an 8.0 VF. The Overstreet Guide feels $19 is appropriate for this issue in this condition - we feel $16 plus our L•O•W $2 shipping is even MORE appropriate!
