Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's famous creation of THOR first took place in 43 issues of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY before the God of Thunder got his own title in THOR #126. Here are 2 great issues of THOR from the Spring of 1973, with an exciting story across two issues scripted by Gerry Conway, one eye-catching cover by Gil Kane, and terrific interior art by one of Marvel's finest artists - John Buscema!

Together, issues #210 and #211 tell the tale of the monstrously powerful Troll ULIK making another attempt to steal THOR's hammer and using it as a way to subdue the Earth to the Trolls' domination!

#210 presents "Hellfire -- And The Hammer!" wherein THOR is once again attacked by ULIK. The villainous Troll succeeds in separating THOR from his hammer and his minions manage to drop the hammer into a flaming pit. THOR dives into the flames, hoping to retrieve MJÖLNIR before he transforms into DR. BLAKE!

The story continues directly in #211's "The End of The Battle!" as we see that THOR successfully retrieves MJÖLNIR from the fiery pit only seconds before turning back into his civilian identity - and certain death!. Meanwhile ULIK leads a Troll army to attack mankind on Earth, but THOR and his allies defeat them and send ULIK’s unconscious body back to KING GEIRRODUR of the Trolls!

These are two nice and supple 51-year old comics, with normal toning but no foxing, and only minimal stress lines and dimpling. We conservatively grade them an aggregate 6.0 FN. The Overstreet Guide feels $18 is appropriate for the duo - we feel $10 plus our customary L•O•W shipping is even MORE appropriate!
