Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's famous creation of THOR first took place in 43 issues of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY before the God of Thunder got his own title in THOR #126. Here are 4 great issues of THOR from late 1972 to early '73, with exciting stories by Gerry Conway, eye-catching covers by Gil Kane, and terrific interior art by Marvel's finest artist - John Buscema!

In "A World Gone Mad!" in #205, MEPHISTO attempts to trick THOR into harming his friends who are innocent in order to corrupt his immortal soul.

In #206 you get "Rebirth!" in which the ABSORBING MAN returns, heeding a mysterious summons that he can't ignore. CRUSHER CREEL follows the summons to a small house in Vermont, which sets up . .

. . . the celebrated issue #207, which was part of a bigger celebration of Halloween in Rutland, Vermont where a 'Superhero Costume Parade' was held every October 31st! In "Firesword", while comics creators take part in Tom Fagan’s Halloween parade, THOR battles firstly The ABSORBING MAN, and then LOKI!

And in " The Fourth Dimensional Man!", in #208, THOR must battle and defeat MERCURIO - a threatening villain who has obtained powers from the 4th dimension by feeding off of THOR/Don Blake's transformational energies!.
