Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's famous creation of THOR first took place in 43 issues of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY before the God of Thunder got his own title in THOR #126. Here are two issues of that long-running series in collectable 4.0 VG condition! -- The two issues the begin the tale of THE INHUMANS in the new back-up feature!!

In "-- If the Thunder Be Gone!" in #146, the story continues from issue #145 - the weakened and hypnotized Thor helps the Circus of Crime to steal the Golden Bull. Sif and Balder watch from Asgard as the police confront Thor. The back-up story is "The Origin of... the Incomparable Inhumans!", a departure from the regular 'Tales of Asgard' feature. In this introductory tale, Jack Kirby tells how King Randac of Attilan enters the Terrogen Mists . . . ending on a suspenseful note and continued in the next issue . .

. . . which is #147! The lead story is "The Wrath of Odin!" in which we learn that THOR surrenders to the police, LOKI posts his bail and attacks him when they are alone, but Sif and Balder intervene. And the INHUMANS tale continues with "The Reason Why!" as King Randac gains energy powers from the Terrogen Mists and decrees that all of his subjects will be exposed to the Mists. The Sentry reveals that the Kree were responsible for the advanced scientific knowledge of Randac's people. (this is quite a backstory and slow build-up to the big reveal of The INHUMANS!)

Customarily terrific JACK KIRBY artwork throughout these 72 pages!

These are two really nice and supple 54-year old comics, with normal toning but no foxing, a few ragged page edges, and only minimal stress lines or edge wear. Both copies have date stamps on their front covers. It appears that #146 may have been newly stapled at some point in its 54 years. That all leads us to grading these a very conservative composite 4.0 VG. The Overstreet Guide feels $32 is appropriate for the pair - we feel $12, plus our L•O•W shipping, is even MORE appropriate! ••• And there is no further postage charge if you buy more items, so load up on some of our other Silver Age Marvels, if that's your thing!
