Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's famous creation of THOR first took place in 43 issues of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY before the god of thunder got his own title in THOR #126. Here are two issues of that long-running series in collectable 4.0 VG condition!

In "THE SCOURGE OF THE SUPER-SKRULL!" in #142, the Super-Skrull, under the influence of Loki, attacks and is beaten by Thor. Meanwhile, Odin sends Sif and Balder to find the evil Enchanters in the land of Ringsfjord. In the 'TALES of ASGARD' back-up feature, Mogul's Demon Riders attack Thor and his companions in "We, Who Are About to Die...!"

In issue #143, "--And, Soon Shall Come: the Enchanters!", Thor, Sif and Balder face the Enchanters Three and the Living Talisman. In 'TALES OF ASGARD' Volstagg finds the Idol of the Mystic Mountain and the Rod of Wondrous Wizard Power while Thor faces the Demon Riders in "To The Death!"

Terrific Jack Kirby artwork throughout these 72 pages!

These are two really nice and supple 54-year old comics, with normal toning but no foxing, a few ragged page edges, and only minimal stress lines or edge wear. Both copies have date stamps on their front covers. In #142 one page is present but not attached, and there is a nick out of the top of the front cover of #143. That all leads us to grading these a composite 4.0 VG. The Overstreet Guide feels $28 is appropriate for the pair - we feel $12, plus our L•O•W shipping, is even MORE appropriate! ••• And there is no further postage charge if you buy more items, so load up on some of our other Silver Age Marvels, if that's your thing!
