Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's famous creation of THOR first took place in 43 issues of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY before the god of thunder got his own title in THOR #126. Here are two early issues of that long-running series!

In "The Flames of Battlet!" in #138, The Trolls steal Thor's hammer while he's on earth using the Orb of Orikal which they have stolen from its owner. In the 'TALES of ASGARD' back-up feature that appeared in over 20 consecutive issues, Kirby and Colletta tell the Thor and companions defeat the one-eyed Ogur to speak with Wazir, the prophet, in "The Quest for the Mystic Mountain!"

Issue #139 continues Thor's battle against Ulik the troll in "To Die Like a God!" which tells of Thor being taken by Sif to Trollheim to recover his hammer. He fights Ulik, releases Orikal, and wins the Troll War. In 'Tales of Asgard' Thor and companions find the Mystic Mountain of Mogul in "The Secret of the Mystic Mountain!"

These are two really nice and supple 53-year old comics, with normal toning but no foxing, some ragged page edges, and only minimal stress lines or edge wear. There are date stamps on both front covers which lead us to grading these a 4.0 VG. The Overstreet Guide feels $45 is appropriate for the pair - we feel $12 plus L•O•W $2 shipping is even MORE appropriate! •• And there is no further postage charge if you buy more items!
