Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's famous creation of THOR first took place in 43 issues of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY before the God of Thunder got his own title in THOR #126. Here is the 6th issue of that long-running series, with 42 total pages of Jack Kirby and Vince Colletta energy and action!

In "Rigel - Where Gods May Fear To Tread!", THOR continues his journey through space to the Rigellian home world - base of the aliens attempting to colonize Earth. He succeeds in battling his way to a near victory when he is stopped by the planet's High Commissioner, who asks that he instead turn his attention to an even greater threat - a looming presence in the Black Galaxy! To save the Earth, THOR agrees to journey deeper into space . . and comes face to face with EGO, the Living Planet!!

You also get a 'Tales of Asgard' feature by Kirby and Coletta, which ran for many issues of THOR as a back-up. I issue #132 they present "The Dark Horse of Death", a time of great fear when the Black Stallion of Doom comes to carry a warrior away to the Land of the Dead!

This is a nice and supple 57-year old comic, with normal toning but no foxing, and only minimal stress lines or edge wear. No tears or creases or pieces missing, and no ragged edges. We conservatively grade this a 5.5 Fn-. The Overstreet Guide feels $27 is appropriate - we feel $23 plus L•O•W $2 shipping is even MORE appropriate!
