Here's a very special and wacky 50th anniversary issue of The SENSATIONAL SHE-HULK from 1993! SHE-HULK (Jennifer Walters) was created by Stan Lee and John Buscema, first appearing in THE SAVAGE SHE-HULK #1 in early 1980. Walters was a lawyer who, after an injury, received an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner, and acquired a milder version of his Hulk condition. As such, Walters becomes a large, powerful green-hued version of herself. But she can still occasionally handle legal matters in the Marvel Universe!

This 52-page special issue, with a foil embossed cover, has a great set-up: artist John Byrne, who had been the Green Amazon's primary artist for 5 years, was unexpectedly declared dead, and a new artist for the series had to be found.

This issue then consists of a parade of multiple tryouts for the position, with Jennifer auditioning and previewing the work of an all-star line-up of marvel artists -- Frank Miller, Walt Simonson, Wendy Pini, Terry Austin, Howard Chaykin, Dave Gibbons, Adam Hughes, Howard Mackie, and Mike DeCarlo. A veritable cornucopia of sterling talent and amusing styles that are a delight to see. There is also an action-oriented story arc running through the issue . . with a very surprising ending!
