If you're a Featherhead, or even a somewhat less-fanatical follower of the winged police duo from Thanagar, or their ancient Egyptian reincarnations, THE OFFICIAL HAWKMAN INDEX volumes should be in your bookshelf!

These two exhaustive explorations and detailed synopsizations of the string of HAWKMAN comics from his Silver Age debut in 'The Brave and the Bold' #34 in 1961, to his co-starring role in 'Mystery In Space' #87 through #90, to his own title and its 27-issue run, to the 7 issues of 'The Atom and Hawkman', through over 45 major appearances in other DC titles, and including his 2nd volume of 'HAWKMAN'!

There are sharp full color images of nearly all these covers, along with details on credits, guest stars, villains, cameos, and of course detailed synopses and commentary.  Several pages cover HAWKMAN's Golden Age appearances, starting with his first story in 1939's FLASH COMICS by creator Gardner Fox and continuing through 1950, when HAWKMAN disappeared from newsstands for an entire decade!

ICG, the Independent Comics Group, created over 20 volumes of similar indexes for DC titles and their characters.  This pair, in my opinion, is one of their best!

These are near-pristine copies of two 35-year old reference comics - it's great to have their mini-gallery of great covers by the likes of Joe Kubert, Murphy Anderson, and Richard Howell (who also provided the covers for these two issues).  Overstreet values the pair at $10 . . but we'll beat that with our $7.50 price tag, and maybe the lowest shipping cost on HipComic!
