A breath of fresh air and a big game-changer for DC, The NEW TEEN TITANS began publication in 1980 and started a tidal wave of positive fan reaction. DC first revived the TEEN TITANS team of kid sidekicks from the 1960s in the pages of _DC Comics Presents_ #26. Joining the new team was the former Doom Patrol associate known as Beast Boy (now calling himself CHANGELING), and three entirely new characters named RAVEN, STARFIRE, and CYBORG. These new heroes united with former team members ROBIN, KID FLASH and WONDER GIRL . . . and the new group gained increased popularity and huge sales with each successive issue.

Here in their premiere issue, in their introductory story co-plotted by Wolfman and Perez, and scripted by Wolfman,

STARFIRE escapes from the Gordanians and makes her way to Earth. RAVEN has manipulated some of the original TITANS, and a few new recruits, into forming a new team and rescuing STARFIRE when the Gordanians arrive on Earth to recapture her. The TITANS fight off her captors, forcing them to retreat through a space rift,through which the TITANS follow them onto their ship. CYBORG rewires the engine systems causing it to explode. The new team has their first success and knows they can work together!

This is a great-looking copy of one of the key issues of DC's Bronze Age resurgence. The binding is strong, the pages are supple and bright, there are no splits, tears, separations, or pieces missing.
