'THE KINGDOM' is a story arc that runs through this two-issue limited series from DC Comics in 1999, written by Mark Waid and drawn by Ariel Olivetti in the first issue, and Mike Zeck in the second. This is both a sequel and, in some ways, a prequel to 'Kingdom Come', also by Mark Waid. Both books form an 'Elseworlds' saga, set apart from main DC continuity, that gives a dark envisionment of our future.

The storyline in 'The Kingdom' is a direct continuation and extension of the original storyline fleshing out areas of the future that were not explored in the original four-part 'Kingdom Come' miniseries. Clark Kent and Diana Prince produce a son, who is immediately kidnapped by the immoral villain GOG. Among other characters present are Batman, Deadman, Flash, Green Lantern and Starman.

These two books introduce the concept of 'Hypertime' that was used by 'The Linear Men'.
