Writer Roy Thomas has stranded the depleted AVENGERS team of HAWKEYE, BLACK PANTHER, THE BLACK KNIGHT and VISION in Antarctica at the start of AVENGERS #62 . . but with the powerful artistic help of John Buscema, they're soon on their way to safety, as BLACK PANTHER summons transport to Wakanda.

In "The Monarch and the Man-Ape!", the four AVENGERS are challenged by M'BAKU - a warrior of the royal court whom T'CHALLA had appointed as ruler in his absence. But M'BAKU intends to grab the throne for himself, and dons the mystic, powerful and forbidden guise of the WHITE GORILLA!

He drugs the AVENGERS, nearly kills T'CHALLA . . . but the other 3 AVENGERS are able to escape imprisonment and stop the usurper . . for good!

An exciting, royal adventure by Roy Thomas, and great art - as always - by John Buscema!

This is a great copy of this 55-year old comic, with a strong binding, supple pages, minimal toning and good color.
