Here is the first full appearance of one of the AVENGERS arch foes . . . none other than ULTRON!

Writer Roy Thomas comes up with another exciting adventure for the depleted team of GOLIATH, WASP, HAWKEYE - and newest member, BLACK PANTHER!!

Following on last issue's betrayal by none other than the Avengers Mansion caretaker and butler JARVIS, in this issue's "Mayhem Over Manhattan", the AVENGERS are being held captive by the four Masters of Evil, and it is shown that JARVIS isn't who they thought at all, but rather the robot ULTRON-5! JARVIS was supposedly killed, but he escapes and finds the BLACK KNIGHT, who helps him. The BLACK KNIGHT then attacks the Masters of Evil and frees the AVENGERS and together they defeat the evil quartet. Although ULTRON and Whirlwind escape, the rest are imprisoned. The AVENGERS decide to give JARVIS a second chance.

John Buscema gifts us once again with his exciting and powerful artwork!

This is a nice copy of this 55-year old comic, with a strong binding, supple pages, minimal toning and good color. There is a very light and minor stain on the later page edges but the interior art is unaffected. We're very conservatively grading it a 7.0 FN/VF, for which Overstreet suggests a price of $96.
