BLACK PANTHER first joins THE AVENGERS here in issue #52 of Marvel's mightiest Superhero Team!

And writer Roy Thomas comes up with another exciting adventure for the depleted team of GOLIATH, WASP, HAWKEYE, QUICKSILVER, SCARLET WITCH - and newest member, BLACK PANTHER!!

In "Death Calls For The Arch-Heroes!", the BLACK PANTHER travels to the Avengers HQ, passes through the security systems and finds the AVENGERS dead! He is then caught near their bodies by S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jasper Sitwell and arrested.

It is shown that the AVENGERS were attacked by the previously unknown GRIM REAPER, and put in a special type of coma, that only he can undo. He wishes revenge for the death of his brother: WONDER MAN. The PANTHER breaks free of the police and returns to the Avengers HQ to find the REAPER.

They fight and BLACK PANTHER steals the REAPER's coma weapon. He rushes to the hospital, battling policemen, and revives the AVENGERS. He is then cleared of any charges and joins the team.

John Buscema gifts us once again with his exciting and powerful artwork! BLACK PANTHER's full-face mask has been redesigned to show the lower half of his face.

This is a nice copy of this 55-year old comic, with a strong binding, supple pages, minimal toning and bright color. We're very conservatively grading it a 7.0 FN/VF, for which Overstreet suggests a price of $74.
