If you happen to be an Entomologist, as well as a Marvel fan, this issue was made for you! Here in THE AVENGERS #46,you get "The Agony and The Anthill!", in which ANTMAN and the WASP battle real Ants!

The Avengers are sitting around Avengers Mansion and talking when the WASP enters the room with her new chauffeur. Although they quickly make him leave, he reveals his identity as the WHIRLWIND (formerly known as The Human Top) and has already seen the inside of the mansion. He uses the AVENGERS technology to increase his size and easily defeats GOLIATH and WASP. However, he drops them into an ant-hill to be killed instead of disposing of them instantly. An ant attacks them but they hide and see the WHIRLWIND planting bombs in the mansion. Then the other AVENGERS return and battle the villain.

Meanwhile, GOLIATH and WASP are slowly being overtaken by the ants. Luckily however, the WASP slays the queen ant and the others stop fighting, allowing them to escape and warn the rest of their teammates about the bombs. Outside, QUICKSILVER defeats the WHIRLWIND and uses his speed to defuse the bomb and save the day.

Roy Thomas provides the exciting script, and John Buscema gifts us with his exciting artwork!

This is a nice copy of this 54-year old comic, with a strong binding, supple pages, android color. There are a few ragged edges, mildly worn corners and a date stamp on the cover just above WHIRLWIND's head!. We're very conservatively grading it a 5.0 VG/FN , for which Overstreet suggests a price of $19. We're going to make this issue a bit more affordable for you at just $15 . . with our always-L•O•W shipping of only $2!
