From 1965 - the world's greatest crusaders are helplessly trapped in an old-world CASTLE in . . . New Jersey??

In the 20-page story "The Castle of Count Nefaria", Stan Lee and Don Heck craft an exciting and really good-looking tale of when Count Nefaria, the head of the crime organization known as the Maggia, moves his European castle to New Jersey, he invites the AVENGERS to be his guests at the castle's opening gala. While they sleep after the party Nefaria makes copies of each of the AVENGERS who he then sends to Washington DC and commands them to declare war on the United States!

When the real AVENGERS leave the party they are attacked by the Army. They discover what has happened and pursue and battle Nefaria, getting evidence from him that proves their innocence. However, in the battle, THE WASP is critically injured.

Terrific stuff from 56 years ago!! This is a nicely solid and attractive copy - we're conservatively grading it a 7.5 VF- with no splits, tears or chips to be seen, and the normal toning of 5-decade old newsprint.
