STEVE DITKO, the creator and main artist for Spider-Man comics since 1962, handles pencils, inks and plotting here for AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #9, as the Wall-Crawler faces off against some bad guys . . . and a good guy!

In the lead story, "The Terrible Threat of the Living Brain!", two technicians try to steal a computer that is on display at Peter's school, and accidentally turn the mobile computer into "The Living Brain", which goes wild and must be stopped by Spider-Man.

Then, in "Spider-Man Tackles the Torch!", Spider-Man crashes a party at Johnny Storm's girlfriend's place, causing a fight between the Human Torch and Spider-Man that soon escalates to include the rest of the Fantastic Four! Pencilled by Jack Kirby and inked by Steve Ditko!

This is a fairly decent copy of SPIDER-MAN #8, despite a cover datestamp, mild spine roll, fairly ragged edges, and ball-point pen writing on the first page. Those are the main detractors, but the binding is strong, there are no missing pieces and the pages have normal toning. Overstreet prices this issue in a grade of 3.5 VG- at $170 (largely due to the novelty of Ditko inking Kirby)) . . . but we think $145 is much more reasonable, and gives you this issue at by far the best price on HipComic! Plus FREE shipping!!
