St. John Publications was an American publisher of magazines and comic books from 1947 to 1958. They burned brightly and hotly under the editorship of founder Archer St. John and established several industry firsts. Much of their success could be attributed to the work of outstanding artist MATT BAKER, whose artistry of glamorous and ethereally beautiful women graced the bulk of the firm's covers, as well as exciting stories of romance, betrayal, Western action, crime, and even a superhero story here and there!

Here is issue #21 in the 45-issue run of TEEN-AGE ROMANCES, the slightly steamy series that was one of the main contributors that got Dr. Frederic Wertham worked up into a lather in his crusade to censor comics that were "corrupting our nation's children"!!

This 36-page issue contains 6 short stories that all showcase the amazingly appealing work of famed 'good girl artist' Matt Baker, the first Black comic artist 'superstar'! Their titles give you a pretty good idea of what to expect -- "Thorns in My Heart", "Small-Town Bombshell", "I Learned My Lesson . . The Hard Way!", "Not Strictly Business", "Trial Romance", and "Pitfalls of Jealousy!"

This is a great-looking and clean copy of TEEN-AGE ROMANCES #21, with all 36 pages bright and colorful and strongly bound. No pieces missing or ragged edges - the cover even has a bit of gloss. Nothing mars the beautiful interior art by Matt Baker, and we confidently grade this a 6.0 FN.
