_LIMITED COLLECTOR"S EDITION_ was a series published by DC Comics from 1972 to 1978. It usually featured reprints of previously published stories but a few issues contained new material. •• The series was published in an oversized 10" x 14" tabloid (or "treasury") format - and it's almost the size of the artist's original illustrations - and in this case it really lets you appreciate the powerful artistry of the great JOE KUBERT!

This is the third issue of LIMITED COLLECTOR'S EDITION. DC reprinted here, in their oversize format, the four issues of their TARZAN comic book, #207 to #210 from the previous year, wherein KUBERT illustrates his own adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' original 1912 novel, 'Tarzan of the Apes'. KUBERT adapts and illustrates the story of how Lord and Lady Greystoke are marooned by mutineers and their son, Tarzan, is raised by the great apes. His ape mother Kala is killed by Kulonga, and Tarzan extracts his vengeance. Years later, the Porters' party is put ashore by mutineers and Tarzan begins protecting them in secret. The French navy rescues the castaways; Tarzan rescues D'Arnot and Tarzan denies his birthright so that Jane can marry Clayton.

Included in this issue are a giant (14" x 20") poster/pin-up of TARZAN, several activity pages, a biography of KUBERT, a How-To-Draw TARZAN spread, and a back cover action diorama to cut out and assemble - all of them unblemished.

This copy of DC's LIMITED COLLECTOR'S EDITION #C-22 is in really nice shape for its 49 years - it has been stored flat for all those years. There is a bit of toning to the page edges as you might expect. At an 8.0 VF grade, this issue commands $18 in Overstreet . . but we're commanding only $15 here on HipComic (half the price of the only other available copy here!). And no one else can ship a comic of this size as affordably as we can!
