The United Nations arranges a foot race between SUPERMAN and the FLASH to determine just who is the fastest, with a global television broadcast and millions of dollars in revenue, and an opportunity for the UN to raise badly needed funds!

A young Jim Shooter writes "Superman's Race With The Flash" - the very first of several races between these two super-speedsters over the years - and throws in many twists and turns, into which would otherwise seem to be a by-the-book foot race three times around planet Earth! Curt Swan illustrates the story with his accustomed heroic perfection and many accurate location shots from global sites along the race route!

Beyond the great cover by Carmine Infantino (with inks by Murphy Anderson), you get a book-length 36 page story, into which Shooter throws the twist of rival international gambling syndicates seeing the race as an opportunity to make a killing - and try to fix the competition. They employ super villains to impede the two JLA members and replace them with impostors. But SUPERMAN and FLASH reemerge to finish the race and show that _______ is the fastest!!

This is a near-pristine, solid copy, with a strong binding, supple pages, minimal toning for it's 55 years, and no tears, stress lines, or pieces missing.
