The second volume of the SUPERMAN title (which started over with #1 in January 1987 after 424 issues of the first volume) hit its milestone 100th issue in May of 1995, and DC produced this 68-page special that initiated the multi-part story, "THE DEATH OF CLARK KENT". It was part of the 'MILESTONE CELEBRATIONS' series that also celebrated the 100th issues of GREEN ARROW, FLASH, JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA and WONDER WOMAN.

The story finds SUPERMAN unable to retain his CLARK KENT identity when the villain CONDUIT (a childhood friend who was affected by the radiation from the rocket that brought KAL-EL to earth!) strikes at his friends and family. CONDUIT lets SUPERMAN know that he has figured out the secret of his double identity, then abducts JIMMY OLSEN. While the KENTS prepare to go into hiding, CONDUIT threatens CLARK's 'love'. While SUPERMAN looks to protect LOIS, but as SUPERMAN realizes CONDUIT meant LANA not LOIS he speeds to the ROSSES and arrives just in time to save his childhood pals. When SUPERMAN tracks down CONDUIT the villain threatens his parents. SUPERMAN races to save his parents and afterwards decides that they all must abandon their former lives.

Dan Jurgens supplies both the story and great pencils, and gets super-inking support from both Brett Breeding and Joe Rubinstein.

We won't call this 68-page copy NEAR MINT, because it has been read and enjoyed several times . . but it is in top-notch condition, with no visible faults or flaws.
