The story goes that legendary DC Editor Julius Schwarz once did some kind of a sales survey and found that DC covers with giant apes and/or the color purple saw a boost in sales!  This one has them BOTH with its giant violet-hued simian!!

In "Superboy Goes Ape!", written by E. Nelson Bridwell and drawn by George Papp, red kryptonite turns Superboy into a monkey and Beppo into a human, but all the conflict gets smoothed out by story's end, of course!

You also get "The Shyest Boy in Town", a "Hall Of Fame" classic reprint from Superboy #80 (1960) where Jonathan and Martha Kent try to preserve Superboy's secret identity by all 3 moving to another town!
