PRINCE NAMOR, THE SUB-MARINER was actually the 'grand daddy' of the whole MARVEL Comics line, being the first SuperAnti-hero published in the 1940s by what would later become Marvel Comics! It wasn't until the late 1960s that he was able to earn his own title once more, after making several guest appearances in comics like DAREDEVIL, FANTASTIC FOUR and TALES TO ASTONISH.

Here is SUB-MARINER #34, featuring Master Ret-Con Genius Roy Thomas penning "Titans Three!" and becoming the first writer to author a SILVERE SURFER story other then Stan Lee!

Sal Buscema illustrates the tale in which NAMOR finds that a machine has been created that can control the weather, and seeks out other heroes to help him save the Earth from possible danger. He confronts the SILVER SURFER and, after a brief fight, convinces him to help.

They then seek out the HULK's assistance and, after helping him fight off a dictator's attacking army, he also agrees to join NAMOR's quest. But before the three can address the Weather machine crisis, they band together to defeat a dictator's army and free the citizens of San Pablo from the maniac's rule!

This is a great SUB-MARINER #34, with nicely glossy covers, a strong binding, terrific color, and no toning of its 54-year old pages! We conservatively grade this copy an 8.0 VF. The Overstreet Price Guide feels $86 is appropriate for this issue that sets the stage for the coming DEFENDERS title -- but we feel $60 plus our LOW shipping cost is even MORE appropriate!
