Item Description

DEADMAN (who in life was acrobat Boston Brand) first appeared in STRANGE ADVENTURES #205 (October 1967), and was created by Arnold Drake and Carmine Infantino. Two issues later, the art chores were taken over by the artist best-known for his association with DEADMAN -- the masterly NEAL ADAMS!  He illustrated the remaining 11 issues of DEADMAN's first story arc.

In "How Many Times Can a Guy Die?", written by Jack Miller and continued from the previous issue,

 DEADMAN - while in the body of a fellow circus worker - discovers that the EAGLE is using his own acrobatic talents and staging jewel heists from skyscraper offices. Unforunately, DEADMAN is discovered trailing him, and EAGLE's gang chases him onto a Ferris wheel. EAGLE and DEADMAN have a deadly hand-to-hand fight that climaxes with EAGLE throwing DEADMAN from the top car!

You also get a bonus 6-page back-up story from 1956 by Ed Hamilton and Carmine Infantino titled "The Man With Four Minds!"  In it, Mark Barrett agrees to undergo an experimental treatment that will allow him to use 100% of his brain, but he develops four conflicting personalities which he cannot control.

This is a wonderfully-preserved 55-year old Silver Age STRANGE ADVENTURES -- no creases, tears, pieces missing, or abnormal toning. The binding is strong, the colors are bright, and the cover is glossy!  We are very confidently grading this an 8.0 VF . . . which Overstreet values at $67 . . . but we're pricing it at just $44. . with our customary L•O•W  shipping!
