It only made sense that cartoonist and animator JACK BRADBURY would create a character that would let him draw a 4-legged animal with hooves!! Bradbury was considered the 'Hoof Specialist' as an animator at the Disney Studio, bringing to life such characters as Ferdinand the Bull, Bambi and his family, and the Pegasus flying horses of FANTASIA! SPUNKY JUNIOR COWBOY with STANLEY THE TALKING HORSE was created by BRADBURY while working for the Nedor/Better/Pines/Standard comics line in the evenings, while animating at Disney and Warner Bros. during the day!

Here in issue #5 you get 7 stories of varying length starring red-headed and barefooted SPUNKY, his gal pal CORA SUE, and of course the amiable and not-quite-quick-witted STANLEY, all with Bradbury's characteristically lively and appealing artwork. (He was a huge influence on my own cartooning and became a wonderful friend to me!)

The cover is clean and the binding is strong on this 36-page comic, with typical 70-year old toning, some corner creases and small unobtrusive stains on the back cover. We call it a 4.0 VG . . and you might call it something better!. Overstreet thinks $20 for this grade is appropriate . . . we think you'd rather find $14 even MORE appropriate -- plus our L• O •W shipping fee - and FREE SHIPPING for additional purchases!
