Very Good - The average used comic book. A comic in this grade shows wear, can have a reading or center crease and/or a rolled spine, but has not accumulated enough total defects to reduce eye appeal to the point that it is not a desirable copy. Discoloration, fading and even minor soiling is allowed. As much as a 1/4 inch triangle can be missing out of the corner or edge. A missing square piece, 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch, is also acceptable. Store stamps, name stamps, arrival dates, initials, etc. have no effect on this grade. Cover and interior pages can have one or two minor tears and folds and the centerfold may be loose or detached. One staple can be loose, but the cover is not completely detached. Common bindery and printing defects do not affect grade. Pages and inside covers may be brown but not brittle. Tape should never be used for comic book repair, however may Very Good condition comics have minor tape repair.

Cover by Dave Stevens. Written by Peter David with art by Russ Heath. The 1991 film of Dave Stevens' classic Eclipse comic starred Bill Campbell, Jennifer Connelly and Timothy Dalton in his first, over-the-top role as a villain (a precursor to Hot Fuzz!). It wasn't much of a commercial success but it was memorable for its plucky 1930s attitude, devotion to the source material and for the alluring Jennifer Connelly in the lead female role. Heath takes over the art chores from Stevens and does an admirable job capturing his sense of innocence mixed with humor, suspense and sexiness.

When circus stunt pilot Cliff Secord accidentally gets his hands on an experimental personal rocket pack stolen from military industrialist Howard Hughes, he suddenly finds himself afoul of the Nazis, the Mob and the FBI. While his best girl Jenny gets a job on the movie set of a swashbuckling epic, Cliff and his mentor Peevy try out the rocket pack. But each time Cliff straps on the Rocketeer suit he finds he's deeper immersed in a foreign plot. Germany plans to create an army of flying Gestapo to terrorize Europe and Jenny's charming leading man Neville Sinclair is behind the whole thing!
