From his debut in SHOWCASE in 1959, RIP HUNTER was portrayed as an ordinary man who uses his invention, the Time Sphere, to travel through time. Aided by his friend Jeff Smith, girlfriend Bonnie Baxter, and Bonnie's kid brother Corky, they have adventures in time. RIP HUNTER...TIME MASTER ran for 29 issues between 1961 and 1965.Here in Issue #7, from 1962, Rip and his crew (including Corky, looking a lot like Toth's later model for JONNY QUEST!)(and even Rip himself is looking a lot like RACE BANNON!) accidentally travel back to prehistoric times and face dinosaurs, Ice Age beasts and angry natives!
Rip Hunter's chronology and backstory got quite convoluted in later years . . but you don't have to worry about that with this adventurous and beautifully-drawn early issue -- Alex Toth's art in this 3-part book-length story is fantastic!
This 58-year old comic is in great shape, with only a few ragged edges to detract from its solid binding and bright-colored pages. We think it is a 4.5 VG+ . . and we think you will too! And don't listen to Overstreet's assessment of $25 -- we say $12 and that's final! (well, except to mention our L O W shipping and handling!)
