They say 'Good things come in THREES' . . and that's certainly the case here, with three fun issues of "RED" RABBIT, from 1947, and all featuring the huge talent of Harvey Eisenberg!"Red" is an earnest cowboy rabbit, a bit less competent than he believes. His side-kick is Punchy, the dim sidekick. All but one story in each of the 3 issues features the great early artistry of Harvey Eisenberg, from around the time he was pumping out gorgeous layouts for the animated Tom and Jerry shorts for MGM, and before he went on to fame with Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear and other Hanna-Barbara characters in comic books!
Other stories in this issue star 'Petey Pinfeathers', 'Officer Mutt', 'King Looey the Lion', 'Cubby Scouts', and 'Slapsy Squirrel'. Eisenberg also did the back cover illustrations on all 3 of these issues, as well!
The cover of #4 has an interesting color shift -- if this was the world of stamp collecting it would classify as a valuable error!
All three issues merit a solid 5.5 FN- aggregate, with strong bindings, clean supple pages, and no tears or missing pieces. There is a date stamp on the cover of #5. Minimal toning for these 74-year old comics!
