REAL FACT COMICS was a series of educational comic books published an early iteration of DC COMICS.  The series lasted for 21 issues, from 1946 to 1949.  Like most educational comics, the series suffered from poor sales.

This 52-page issue, #18 from January of 1949, features ten really nicely-illustrated non-fiction stories, about - among other interesting topics - the Shoot-Out at the OK Corral (illustrated by early BATMAN artist, Dick Sprang), the Bronx Zoo, the first men to fly a balloon into the stratosphere, a volcano in Mexico, and a biography of Olympian Jim Thorpe.

This copy is beautifully tight and well-cared-for, without any creases or tears, and is in really incredible shape for a 74 year-old comic! The binding is strong, the printing is excellently in register, and all the artwork is admirably superb!  We grade it a conservative an 8.5 VF+.  This condition - for this issue - lists for $101 in Overstreet.  We think $88 is more like it, coupled with our L•O•W shipping fees!
