JACK KIRBY, long a fixture at Marvel Comics and widely admired for his action-packed art style and his fertile imagination, spent nearly two years quietly negotiating a deal to leave Marvel and move to DC Comics. He joined the rival publisher in late 1970 when he signed a three-year contract with an option for two additional years. He produced a series of interlinked titles under the blanket label "The Fourth World", which included a trilogy of new titles: NEW GODS, MISTER MIRACLE, and THE FOREVER PEOPLE.

He also produced other DC series such as KAMANDI, THE DEMON, KOBRA, DEVIL DINOSAUR . . . and OMAC!

As envisioned by Kirby, OMAC is essentially CAPTAIN AMERICA set in the future, an idea he had toyed with some years earlier while at Marvel Comics but had never realized.OMAC ran for 8 issues, ending in 1975.

Here in issues #2 through #4 - written and illustrated by Kirby, with inking by D. Bruce Berry - BUDDY BLANK, selected to serve as a candidate for Project One Man Army Corps, finds himself battling to stop enemies of the state, and villains of a sci-fi nature.

These are 3 great-looking 50-year-old copies of one of Kirby's later creations while at DC shortly before his return to Marvel Comics. The bindings are strong, and the pages are supple and bright. A terrific part of any complete Kirby collection!
