MOEBIUS, was the pseudonym of legendary visionary artist/cartoonist Jean Giraud (1938 – 2012) the French cartoonist and writer who garnered worldwide acclaim predominantly for his fantasy/science-fiction work. He was influential to an entire generation of European and global artists who revered his clean and detailed, almost abstract, depiction of the surreal in a clear line style. His work extended beyond comics to magazines, animation, and films like 'ALIEN' and 'TRON'.

The first issue of MOEBIUS COMICS, from the six-issue run published by Caliber Comics in 1996 & 97. The series was a showcase of all kinds of obscure projects MOEBIUS had crafted, all presented in black and white, with a page or two of explanation and analysis of his process and thoughts.

This issue contains four of those projects: "The Man from Ciguri" - a sequel of sorts to his widely popular series 'The Airtight Garage'; "Destiny X3" - the plans for an existential study of the influential teachings of a parapsychologist he knew; "Internal Transfer" - storyboards for a proposed animated feature; and "Arzach Jams" - the first in a series of short stories that were originated by MOEBIUS but never finished, and were offered to currently renowned artists to adapt as they saw fit - and incredibly talented William Stout is the first to 'jam' herewith his friend MOEBIUS!
