Here is his second issue of MISTER MIRACLE, a breath of fresh air at DC as Kirby started painting his 'Fourth World' canvas.

This issue follows the development of Kirby's "FOURTH WORLD" concept which introduced the New Gods and their nemesis Darkseid. MISTER MIRACLE himself is actually SCOTT FREE, a Prince of NEW GENESIS, who was unaware of his heritage, and escaped from his harsh upbringing on APOKOLIPS and fled to Earth.

Here in issue #2 you get "X-Pit!", wherein Granny Goodness, the cruel mistress of the Apokolips institution from which Scott Free once escaped, tries to destroy MISTER MIRACLE with the help of her soldiers and a mysterious, powerful being called Overlord.

Kirby Both Wrote It and Illustrated It!
This is a great-looking copy of part of the foundational issues of Kirby's 'Fourth World' opus. The binding is strong, the pages are supple and bright, there are no real flaws that we can see - other than tiny ragged areas on the covers That flaw alone lowers our conservative grade of this otherwise near-pristine copy to a 7.5 VF-.

Overstreet values this issue in this condition at $30. But we're willing to part with it for $23 with our always-low shipping of just $2.
