MAD magazine frequently repackaged its material in a long series of "Super Special"-format magazines, beginning as far back as 1958. These reprint issues were sometimes augmented by exclusive features such as posters, stickers and, on a few occasions, recordings on flexi-disc, or comic book-formatted inserts reprinting material from the 1952–55 era.

Early '70s humor is expertly delivered here in the Summer of 1971 by the 'USUAL GANG OF IDIOTS'  --- Jack Davis, Sergio Aragones, Mort Drucker, Don Martin, Antonio Prohias (Spy vs. Spy), Dave Berg, and Paul Coker Jr., with a sprinkling of other 'mad' cartoonists, all lampooning the churning, bombastic state of our country in 1971.  Included are 16 full-color 'mini-posters' that make fun of politics, the drug culture and militarism!

(There is something about the lesser-quality paper that MAD used that makes its pages difficult to scan without making them look like ancient parchment! The actual pages look much better than these sepia-toned scans!)

This copy is in excellent shape, with a solid and still-square binding, and no tears, or creases and a back cover that isn't "folded-in" - the only fault marring its otherwise-pristine condition is a chunk out of the bottom corner of the back cover. A nice and tight specimen of a 51 year-old magazine that was probably read under the covers with a flashlight!  

 We conservatively grade this at 8.0 VF.  As such, Overstreet lists a value of $30 . . . but we're offering it at $18.00 . . with our always-LOW shipping . . and FREE shipping for additional purchases!
