This incarnation of the LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES (approximately the 14th!) was introduced in SUPERMAN (2018 series) #14-16 and SUPERGIRL (2016 series) #33, where they traveled back in time to ask SUPERBOY to come to the future to join the LEGION. SUPERBOY was previously shown with the LEGION briefly in LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES: MILLENNIUM (2019 series) #2 in a scene that appears to take place between pages of this issue.

In this opening issue of a whole new series, ULTRA BOY, KARATE KID, WILDFIRE, and STAR BOY battle the Horraz and Mordru to recover an ancient artifact of great power, the trident of AQUAMAN! SATURN GIRL brings SUPERBOY to the 31st Century for the first time to meet with the LEGION, where SUPERBOY is surprised by the drastic changes to Earth!
