Back in 1983, with DC's THE NEW TEEN TITANS hugely popular, and Nancy Reagan's DRUG AWARENESS CAMPAIGN garnering much adulation and support, the little baker-elves of KEEBLER COOKIES decided to step up and share the spotlight! The result of that agreement was this impressive FREE giveaway comic, scripted by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by George Pérez, the TEEN TITANS" award-winning creators.

In its 36 pages, the TEEN TITANS and PROTECTOR*, with plain talk and understanding, help a group of kids overcome their drug problems. Especially noteworthy is the fact that Titan SPEEDY talks about his addiction and the depths that it took him to.

* DC didn't realize it could not use the character of ROBIN until after the art for this issue was completed (ROBIN had been licensed by KEEBLER's rival NABISCO) and Dick Giordano had to re-do all the original ROBIN figures as the PROTECTOR, though the character is still directing the team and acting as if he were ROBIN!

It's a very direct and moving story, excellently portrayed by Perez.

As a free comic giveaway, distribution of this stand-alone comic was spotty, and many copies did not survive in the great condition of this one.It is in near-pristine shape for its age of 42 years - strong binding, glossy covers supple pages with great color, and no splits, tears, creases, or pieces missing.
