Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's famous creation of THOR first took place in 43 issues of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY before the God of Thunder got his own title in THOR #126. Here is the Asgardian's eighth appearance, in JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #90

In the 13-page lead story "Trapped by the Carbon Copy Man!" - scripted by Stan Lee and his brother and illustrated by Al Hartley - Dr. Donald Blake notices weird and incomprehensible things happening in New York City and pays a visit as THOR to the Mayor to ask what is going on -- but the Mayor, after ordering THOR arrested, reveals himself to be the head of an alien invasion of the CARBON COPY MEN! They are able to duplicate exactly anyone they want, and plan to disrupt all of civilization and conquer the Earth!

But THOR is able to outsmart them - of course - and also reap the admiration of Jane Foster. (The CARBON COPY MAN next appears in X-FACTOR #32 - 25 years later!)

•• There are also two short stories - "The Midnight Caller" with art by STEVE DITKO, and "I am a Robot!" illustrated by JOE SINNOTT!

This copy of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #90 has obviously been well-read and enjoyed over its 60 years, but the binding is strong and there are no tears, creases or pieces missing. No real flaws that we see, but it has a generally 'tired' feeling to it. These all contribute to a conservative grading of 3.5 VG- ( you may judge it higher), for which Overstreet suggests a price of $117.00!
