Here's the scion of Asgard, the MIGHTY THOR, appearing just three years after his debut in this science fiction/fantasy anthology comic, JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY, and just one year before the God of Thunder gets his own self-titled comic, with THOR #126.

In  "The Power of the Thunder God!", written by Stan Lee and with dynamic action art from Jack Kirby, THOR continues his battle from the previous issue with the COBRA and MR. HYDE while JANE FOSTER hovers close to death. ODIN's heart begins to soften towards JANE, thanks to the intervention of BALDER. who skirmishes with LOKI and obtains the medicine needed for JANE's recovery, and sends it to THOR in the nick of time. THOR is victorius over his 2 foes . .  and JANE will live!

Jack Kirby also illustrates the TALES OF ASGARD back-up feature, "The Secret of Sigurd!", and also provides a one-page Marvel Masterwork Pin-Up of LOKI!

This 59-year old copy of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #111 is in pretty nice condition - no tears, bent corners, pieces missing or excessive toning -- but the cover and splash page have become separated at the bottom staple, and there is some unobtrusive handwriting on the splash page. We'll call this a 4.5 VG+ which Overstreet values at $43 -- we however are going to make this issue a bargain for THORists at just $35. . with our tremendously LOW shipping charge!
