Item Description

_MARCH OF COMICS_ was a comic book series published by Western Publishing and provided to retail outlets as a giveaway premium to entice shopping by children. 488 issues were published from 1946 to 1982.

This particular issue stars Huckleberyy Hound in one of his earliest appearances - from 1960, less than a year after his Hanna-Barbera TV show premiered. This copy was a giveaway at 'Child Life Shoes', whose logo is imprinted on the cover, rather than just being rubber-stamped, as were the majority of March of Comics issues.

The comic measures 5" x 7" and has 16 pages of terrific Harvey Eisenberg artwork. The story "Jungle James" is followed by two unmarked-up pages of activities.

There is a small pencil notation on the cover, but for being 60 years old, this little survivor of being read by kids who needed shoes, is in pretty great shape!
