Nearly 150 years after the last thing he remembers, Wold West anti-hero JONAH HEX suddenly finds himself transported to a strange new world. At first, he believes that he is still in a saloon in Red Dog, preparing for a gunfight with Brett. When his old foe El Papagayo barges through the door, Hex guns him down, only to discover that his adversary is in fact a robot!

He has been transported to the mid 21st century American West, after an apocalyptic nuclear war. He manages to break free of confinement in the strange research lab where he was imprisoned and escapes into the desert, where he encounters several thugs beating up on a young woman. Jonah saves her life, and finds that her name is Stiletta – a member of a desert gang known as the Road Reapers.

As usual, Jonah finds himself caught in the middle of a fight between bad guys and badder guys! He is left standing when the smoke clears and takes the opportunity to head off into the sunset . . . and search for a way to return to the 1880s!

This first issue features the 22-page story "Once Upon a Time . . In the West??" ( directly continuing from JONAH HEX #92 of the previous month!) written by THE SPECTRE's Michael Fleisher and illustrated with faithful authority to an updated Old West by Mark Texeira.

Lots of good action and great art in a near-pristine copy of HEX #1. Overstreet marks it with a $10 value . . but we'll shoot that down with our $7.50 price tag, and maybe the lowest shipping cost on HipComic!
