When DC editor Julius Schwartz decided to resurrect many Golden Age heroes in the 1960s, he called on early HAWKMAN creator Gardner Fox to bring the winged Thanagarian law officer back to newsstands under his own title!

In HAWKMAN #2 you get two great stories from HAWKMAN's original scripter, Gardner Fox! In "Secret of the Sizzling Sparklers!", Murphy Anderson both pencils and inks the cover story of invading aliens called the TRALLS who attack KATAR HOL and his love, SHAYERA, because they know how dangerous the Thanagarians can be to their evil plans for Earth.

In the second tale, "Wings Across Time!", Anderson dynamically illustrates Fox's story of when the wings of ICARUS were discovered and exhibited in the Midway City Museum. When HAWKMAN'S wings are damaged in an encounter with mobsters, he uses the historic pair.

This is an amazing-looking 61-year old Silver Age HAWKMAN -- no creases, tears, pieces missing, or abnormal toning. The binding is strong, and the colors are bright!
